Urban League Twin Cities is partnering with National Urban League and the George Floyd Memorial Foundation to honor George Floyd’s legacy on his 47th birthday (October 14). This Day of Action is an opportunity to take tangible steps toward securing justice and equity for Black and Brown communities. The main call to action is for as many people as possible to VOTE in this election.
With just weeks left until Election Day, it is impossible to overstate the importance of our voices to shape the fight for police reform, racial equity, economic justice, and more. Together we have the power to change the course and discourse of our country.
Today, on October 14, encourage your family, friends, and networks to register to vote, vote early, and get their voting plan ready. We also are asking people to tell their U.S. Senators to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act that is stalled in Congress. The bill is 4 votes shy of passing and the outcome of this election could push the legislation forward.
