BLACK GEMS -College & Career Readiness: Preparing a New Generation For Success
Our distinction is (1) the conduct and emphasis of the HBCU tour experience. Kids are encouraged to “see themselves there” via several exercises, (2) the Black Gems program focuses on social/emotional learning preparing them for success in whatever post-secondary path they choose, (3) our work leads students to building interconnectivity with others through building their own self-awareness and exercising it through intercultural relationships that are healthy and affirming for all, (3) we advocate for shared power relationships in education and among educators who are responsible for teaching students and insuring education meets world standards/parents and families that shepherd students, and the community that holds them.
